As some of you know, I have spent the past 18 months unwell. I put down how I was feeling to the stress of running my business through the pandemic, having a small child and not being as young as I once was! As the months dragged on and I wasn't getting a lot better I began to know it was something else and just before Christmas I was diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer. It has been such a drawn out process that, although I would obviously prefer to not be living with this, I am thankful that it is this and not something else and also thankful to finally have a diagnosis to know what I am dealing with.
My cancer comes under a group of rare blood cancers called Myeloprolifrative Neoplasms, or MPN for short. Blood cancer falls under the radar even though it is the 2nd most diagnosed cancer in Australia and MPNs get even less attention which is why I have chosen to talk about it and hopefully raise some awareness and funds for MPN research.
