This year instead of one big prize (ie Nats World Series, Caps playoff tickets), we're offering prizes that not only benefit So Others Might Eat, but also local small businesses. We've purchased gift certificates and gift cards from Wolf Trap, Amalea Bakes, Chef Scott Cruz, Fairfax County Rec Centers, local Professional Photographers, Dominion Wine & Beer, and local Salons & Spas.
So Others Might Eat has a very special place in my heart. I've been "rich" in friends and family all my life, but there was a time when I experienced extreme financial struggle. I couldn't make ends meet for myself and my 2 yr old and S.O.M.E. was there to provide a week or two weeks worth of food so I didn't have to choose between electricity and groceries. Happily we didn't need the help for long. S.O.M.E. helps people bridge an immediate gap, and offers so much more to people in need.
Right now, there are thousands of our neighbors who are in need.
NoVa House and Home will match the amount raised through ticket sales and donate to S.O.M.E.
In past years we've been able to donate over $5,000. We'd love to beat our past record. We need to sell 200 tickets to donate a total of $6,000 to So Others Might Eat.
