Thank you for visiting our 16th Annual March for Marrow Raffle! As Texas patients and family members we are create these Patient, Family & Community event in Texas on behalf of the Aplastic Anemia MDS International Foundation, Inc. (AAMDSIF), www.AAMDS.org.
As in the past, our purpose as Texas patients and families who have received life-giving support from AAMDSIF is fourfold:
1. Expand awareness of bone marrow failure diseases.
2. Create a support community among patients, families, and medical professionals in Texas.
3. Raise funds for AAMDSIF’s free programs and services that have benefited all of us.
4. Recruit potential marrow donor candidates through Be the Match.
5. Increase awareness of the premier doctors, nurses, and medical services for bone marrow failure disease support in Houston and in Texas.
This past April we raised $23,00IMG_6151.jpg1.32 MB0.00 through team fundraising, local sponsorships and national sponsors! Over 200 runners and walkers including patients, friends, family members, area residents, and volunteers ran or walked with us. Our goals for March for Marrow 2025 are to raise $30,000 with which to serve MORE patients & families, and to recruit 20 potential donors for the National marrow Donor Program - Be the Match. A Review: I love this place. The service is always excellent and I absolutely love their salad bar. The lettuce is remarkably crisp and the topping are outstanding. The appetizers are some of the best around and surprisingly their crab cake is one of the tastiest crab cakes be ever had, including from Louisiana. You can even tour the kitchen and pick your own steak.
The last time, I was there I brought my son and we had a really delightful meal. For the first time in forever, my steak was cooked perfectly after our waitress suggested that I get it between medium-rare and rare, and instead of having it served on a metal plate, which would continue to cook it, she brought it to me on a ceramic plate. I paired it with their delicious salad bar and the mac & cheese. Definitely a meal to write home about. Save room for dessert! Many thanks to Gail Nevlud and Husband!
