David Alexander is a 2022 member of the Hammers Lacrosse program and junior at Handley High School in Winchester, Virginia and was diagnosed with a fairly rare form of cartilage cancer known as Chondroblastic Osteosarcoma on October 13, 2020.
After many meetings with the specialist and oncology team, there would be an extensive surgery to include removing his left leg completely, as well as his hip, and the base of his spine. At that point, there would still be a great 85% chance or higher of the cancer returning.
David has chosen to return home and not have the surgery.
David and his family still need assistance in getting through this process by allowing David to spend time with his family and friends and try and travel as much as possible while he still can.
