Village Quilters of Lake Bluff/Lake Forest is a quilting guild that meets monthly in Lake Bluff, Illinois. This year, we are offering an opportunity to win Ruffled Roses from the Village, a beautiful quilt hand made by talented members of our guild. Our raffle quilt raises funds to support our charity quilt efforts,  educational guest speakers, and workshop activities. Most recently, we donated more than 40 quilts to the Hopes and Dreams Challenge for ALS. To join our quilt guild as a new member, please visit https://www.villagequilters.org/join-us.

Want to see our spectacular raffle quilt in person, along with hundreds of other beautiful quilts? Quilts from the Village, our biennial quilt show, will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 through Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the Libertyville Sports Complex located at 1950 US-45, Libertyville, IL 60048. For more information about our quilt show and raffle quilt, please visit https://www.villagequilters.org/show.

Special thanks to the following Village Quilters members for their contributions to our raffle quilt: (in alphabetical order) Alice Hutchinson, Celia Stratman, Christine Tindell, Donna Derstadt, Erica Jarrett, Kate Klein, Kathy Sorkin, Kearstie Grenier, Linda Spring, Lorraine Potts, and Nancy Smith.

The quilt is 86 inches square, and based on the pattern “Ruffled Roses” by Sue Garman. Raffle Quilt Committee co-chairs Donna Derstadt and Celia Stratman made fabric design choices with two goals in mind: to introduce a bright modern feel to this lovely traditional pattern, and to create a quilt that makes people feel happy when they look at it!
