CATTHEW'S STORY

I met Catthew in a Home Depot parking lot in Sept 2020, 5 months after losing my 12-year-old kitty to kidney failure. He was covered in dirt, had a hurt leg, and was trembling. I remember thinking that this tiny kitten might die in my lap on the drive home, and I had no idea how to care for such a young kitten. With the help of my neighborhood TNR group, I learned how to nurture him back to health, and over the next few weeks, we bonded deeply. 3 weeks later my husband and I adopted a sister for him to grow up with.

Fast forward to 4 days before Christmas. Catthew was lethargic, not eating, and running a high fever. The diagnosis was FIP and our veterinarian said he would likely not make it to the New Year. We took him home with pain medication to enjoy our last days together. Worried about how his loss would affect his adopted sister, I contacted the rescue she came from to see if her biological brother was available for adoption. After explaining our situation, the woman on the phone sent me the contact info for FIP Warriors 5.0, and I spent the day convincing my husband we should at least try out this treatment.

Catthew is now in observation, but as most in this group know, the costs added up quickly. This fundraiser will help recover part of the expenses incurred during treatment, future bloodwork over the next 10 weeks, and help purchase medicine to help other FIP Warriors getting started in the Central FL area.
