We are raffling off Burn-ey the Driftwood Dragon to raise funds and awareness for Southern Maryland Community Resources (SMCR) through its major fundraiser the Solomons Dragon Boat Festival.

SMCR creates events and opportunities for Southern Maryland residents with disabilities. Every contribution helps improve the lives of our friends with disabilities, offering social, recreational and educational opportunities they might not otherwise have access to.

The Prize

  • Burn-ey the Driftwood Dragon

Burn-ey was hand-crafted by artist Larry Ringgold of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland.  Born and raised on the Chesapeake Bay, Ringgold has been in Carpentry and Woodworking for over 42 years. He has received recognition and awards for his work at many art shows and festivals up and down the eastern seaboard. Ringgold finds his driftwood on local beaches, making his work even more special to Marylanders.

Burn-ey was commissioned for the Solomons Dragon Boat Festival, with the aim of bringing awareness to SMCR. Burney is about 24x24 with a depth of about 12 inches. He fits quite well on display in a home or business.

For just $10 you can have a chance to bring him home!
