One of the most important events in our calendar each year is our annual Charity Week. Our members, friends and business connections combine on the day to raise much needed funds for a selection of charities. We focus each year on two organisations and over many years significant amounts have been donated to a wide range of deserving causes. Our two primary charities for 2022 are Prostate Cancer Awareness and Ovarian Cancer Awareness. A brief summary of their activities is below for your information. We hope you will agree that these are excellent organisations doing vital work on very challenging illnesses in Ireland.
About 3,890 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year in Ireland. This means that 1 in 7 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime.
Prostate cancer can be treated with active surveillance, external beam radiotherapy, hormone therapy, brachytherapy, surgery, chemotherapy and watchful waiting.
