WE ARE BACK... After a long 2020, filled with a lot of sad cheer faces because of Covid eliminating any chance for Winchester Pop Warner Cheer to compete on the National stage, we are excited to be bringing TWO teams back to the Pop Warner Cheer National Championships held at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, December 5th -8th.
For the first time ever, the Winchester Pop Warner Cheer program will be represented by our Adaptive Team, coached by Chrissy Capodanno and 7 student demos. The adaptive cheer program is a group of students who do not let their special needs get in the way of their drive to perform. This team made up of 7 athletes, who each partner up with a high school student demo (all of whom are former Pop Warner cheerleaders!) to showcase their cheer skills in front of standing ovations every time they hit the mat. From early August until now, this team has practiced every week to build their skills and master their routine, which they have been able to perform at both the Eastern Mass league competition, as well as the New England regional competition. They have been invited to perform one more time on the big stage, and we are now are asking for your help so they can bring their skills to the mat in Orlando, Florida on December 6th, 2021 at the Pop Warner National Championships.
Winchester Pop Warner Cheer is also very proud to be sending our Varsity squad (student athletes in grades 7 and 8) back to the National Championships for the 5th straight season. Led by head coach Brianna Daisy and assistant coach Kristen Glionna, this group of 15 athletes earned the right to compete for a national title by placing 2nd in their division at New England Regionals. They are looking to avenge their 2018 4th place finish as a PeeWee squad at Nationals with a championship run of their own this year. Having not had the opportunity to cheer or compete last year because of Covid, this group has continued to post scores similar to past champion cheer teams from Winchester Pop Warner, and continue to work hard week over week refining and improving their routine. Working extremely hard at each and every practice with a commitment that is rarely seen, this group of young athletes is determined and confident that they can bring back a national title to Winchester Pop Warner Cheer.
All money raised from this fundraiser will go 100% directly back to the athletes to help offset the significant cost that a trip like this entails. Please consider donating to these two teams, as we are confident you will not be disappointed!! Winchester Pop Warner Varsity Cheer Program 7th and 8th Graders
