Old Rip Van Winkle Barrel Head prize and Historic Locust Grove's Distillery

Win a rare piece of bourbon history and support Historic Locust Grove!

The winner will receive a prize that includes:
·       Barrel Head from the aging of the 25-year Old Rip Van Winkle Bourbon, signed by Julian Van Winkle III.
·       Old Fashioned Pappy Hour Gift Set from Pappy & Co. 
·       2 complimentary tickets to tour Locust Grove

This barrel head is from one of the 11 barrels distilled in 1989, the oldest and most limited release in the history of the Old Rip Van Winkle distillery. With some of the original barrel heads damaged or lost, this is one of only 16 in existence, numbered 12 of 16. 

The winner will be drawn on July 4th, 2023 at 1:30pm at Locust Grove (561 Blankenbaker Lane, Louisville, KY 40207) and on Facebook live.  Tickets will be sold from May 13th, 2023, to July 3rd, 2023 or until sold out. To purchase a ticket, participants must be over the age of 18 and reside in the continental United States where the raffle is not prohibited. Eligible participants may purchase more than one ticket. More About the Historic Distillery
In 2017, Historic Locust Grove unveiled a working reproduction farm distillery on our historic site. This distillery has become a unique immersive experience where visitors can experience the sights, sounds and smells of whiskey-mashing, learning about the origins of distilling in Kentucky. The best bourbon in the world is made in and around the Louisville region, and we share the story of how local farms would distill excess grains into spirits as another way to preserve crops and create a new product. Over time, large distilleries developed, and the bourbon we know and love today was made. This is a great opportunity for local residents and Bourbon tourists alike to come and learn the origins of Kentucky Bourbon, and this fundraiser will help fund the operation of this program.
