We all understand the power that showing livestock has in developing young people. Each year, thousands of kids raise livestock with the goal of showing at County Fairs, jackpots, and other shows. Like many activities, there’s a learning curve to attaining success at these events. Participation in a program/Club like 4-H or FFA offers youth a positive and supportive environment to learn new skills/life lessons and be involved in an activity that encourages and teaches teamwork and working with peers. These activities offer an anti-gang atmosphere and rather promote comradery among participants. Also, the involvement in these types of programs help keep the youth devote their time to something positive and uplifting versus turning to substance abuse. There are many camps out there that can help, but unfortunately many are too expensive for the average competitor to afford.
What can you do to help?
With your help, each year we are able to host a week long, high quality, low cost, livestock camp for hundreds of youth, where a group of dedicated 4-H leaders and parents join together to put on the Arizona Livestock Camp in Holbrook, Arizona. This would not be possible without our supporters. We again asking for your help this year by purchasing some Raffle tickets and at the same time have a chance to win A Rawhide 66 Saddle or a 1/2 of a Processed Beef.
What’s included in the camp?
High Level Clinicians
Participants who attend have access to engaged and enthusiastic livestock clinicians who are motivated to help young people learn and perfect skills and techniques which will translate into success in the show ring.
Awards and prizes
Everyone who participates will be recognized for their involvement in learning, with special awards given to the most improved and overall achievers.
Turn learning into practice
The camp is conveniently followed by the Route 66 Classic Jackpot Show which is the perfect opportunity for our livestock exhibitors to put into practice their newly learned skills.
Fun and activities
Socializing and enjoying time with each other is one of the best things about showing livestock. Participants have tons of opportunities to spend time with each other inside and outside of the show ring.
