Morgan's Closet is the purpose a mom and daughter found from their pain in experiencing a domestic violence nightmare.  Not having a job was Andrea's biggest barrier in leaving her abuser and once escaped she lacked clothes for job interviews.  Today, Morgan's Closet is a refuge for all women who want to leave the life of surviving and live the live of thriving.  We provide a safe and loving environment where women learn how to dress for an interview, are provided three job interview outfits, have a professional resume written for them, learn how to set goals, participate in mock job interviews and learn how to calm nerves before interviews.  The magic of Morgan's Closet is not the clothing or the knowledge these women leave with but the confidence and the joy they discover.  Anne Klein captured it beautifully when she said, "Clothes will not change the world, but the women wearing them will."  Time and time again we watch women look in the mirror after trying on a new outfit and seeing an incredible, talented and beautiful version of themselves they either never knew existed or forgot existed.  The T-shirts we provide women (and volunteers) says YOU ARE A FORCE.  When they leave our workshops that is exactly how they feel.  And walking into any job interview, that is what they will be.   Many women who come through our workshops have experienced some type of trauma, whether domestic violence, homelessness, divorce, poverty or just hard times. 
Andrea attributes her daughter Morgan for giving her the strength to escape and fight for a better life.  Therefore when she set out to help others she felt it only appropriate to call her endeavor Morgan's Closet, to honor her daughter. 

Since we are a nonprofit we rely on public and private donations.  Since starting our workshops in March 2022 and counting the registered women through our August workshops we will have had 50 women graduate our program.  Please help us continue to remove barriers for women who are trying to enter or re enter the workforce and make a better life for them and their families. 

Starting August 1st you can purchase raffle tickets for $5 each for the chance to win a some amazing prizes!  The more tickets you buy the better your chances to win!  Tell your friends and family and maybe they will be a winner!  The winner will be announced August 11th at 7pm at our Summer Bash Fundraiser held at Cahaba Brewery.  (You do not have to be present to win.) 

These funds will go directly to the cost of our workshops.  A $40 donation will sponsor one woman (and you get 8 chances to win!).  An $80 donation will sponsor two women (and 16 chances to win!)  Each workshop on average hosts 5-6 women.  August 20th we will have 20 women attending!
