  • 117 Milwaukee-Eight

The Milwaukee-Eight® 117 is a V-twin engine with a displacement of 117 cubic inches (1,923cc). It utilizes a 45-degree cylinder angle and a single camshaft design to reduce mechanical complexity and friction.
The center-cool configuration incorporates precision oil-cooled cylinder heads. Oil is routed through passages near the exhaust valve seats to maintain stable operating temperatures under load.
The engine employs four-valve cylinder heads for each cylinder (two intake, two exhaust) to improve volumetric efficiency. High-compression pistons and performance cam profiles are designed to optimize torque and horsepower output across the usable RPM range.
Fuel delivery is managed via an electronic sequential port fuel injection (ESPFI) system. Lubrication is provided by a dual scavenge, dry-sump oiling system. Primary drive is via a chain, and the engine is designed to mate with Harley-Davidson’s six-speed transmission platforms.
