“She is clothed in strength & dignity and laughs without fear of the future.” Proverbs 31:25.
Dinah M. Pittman was a woman of strong faith with a contagious smile. She brought fun and laughter to all who she encountered. Mother, sister, daughter, and friend were just a few of the titles that Dinah held in life. Dinah entered to learn at Winston-Salem State University in 1999 and she was initiated into the Gamma Phi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated on April 20. 2002. She was affectionately named “ever-RED-y” by her Sorority Sisters because she was always dependable and ready to assist her sisters whenever needed. Dinah was diagnosed with a rare and chronic systemic disease called scleroderma. Unfortunately, she lost her battle with this illness on April 29, 2020 at the age of thirty-eight. To honor her legacy, an endowed scholarship fund was established at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) in December of 2020. Your donations will assist (2) undergraduate recipients annually to further their education at WSSU. This scholarship will be long-lasting and impactful in keeping Dinah’s memory alive.
