This 4th of July, Kiwanis Club of Moraga Valley is doing something extraordinary!  This is your chance to win a beautiful, well-preserved and restored classic car and help us make a difference in the lives of the children in our community.  All proceeds go directly to Kiwanis Club of Moraga Valley Foundation ("KCMV"), a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  KCMV is conducting this raffle pursuant to California Penal Code Section 320.5, et seq., to raise funds for ongoing charitable purposes, namely providing services for children and families in Contra Costa and Northern Alameda Counties.

A MINIMUM OF 100 TICKETS MUST BE SOLD, OTHERWISE ALL PURCHASES WILL BE REFUNDED TO THE ORIGINAL FORM OF PAYMENT.  For this reason, there will be only credit card transactions for this fundraiser!  If we do not reach our minimum goal of 100 entries, refunds will be initiated to your original form of payment no later than July 6, 2023 (credit card refunds subject to your credit card issuer's policy).

No more than 300 tickets will be sold.  Ticket(s) or ticket packs may be purchased one of two ways: (1) online thorough this system (2) in person at the Kiwanis Raffle Table by the Snack Shack at Moraga Commons Park, Moraga CA, during the July 4th celebration.  Tickets purchased onsite must be made by a KCMV volunteer with an electronic device via this site (iPad or other electronic device will be provided).  Tickets will not be sold after 6:00pm PST on July 4, 2023.  The drawing for the car will take place at the Town of Moraga 4th of July Celebration, July 4th 2023 at or around 8:00pm PST.

All entries must include payment by credit card. No refunds will be made except under the following circumstances: a ticket order with payment received after 300 raffle tickets have been sold. No other refunds are available except at the exclusive discretion of KCMV. KCMV assumes no responsibility for any  failure to receive orders or deliver receipts prior to the drawing deadlines.

Single raffle tickets are $100 each. Discounted, multi-ticket packs will be sold at the following prices: 3-packs consisting of three (3) tickets are $250, 5-packs consisting of five (5) tickets are $400, and 10-packs consisting of (10) tickets are $500. Only one method of payment, one name, and one mailing address are permitted per raffle ticket or raffle ticket pack (“ticket transaction”). Only one eligible person may be entered in the raffle per ticket transaction. If the name of more than one person is submitted with a ticket transaction, and the raffle ticket or a raffle ticket from the raffle ticket pack is selected as a winning raffle ticket, then the person named first will be deemed the holder of record of that ticket and declared the winner. Division of prize by a group purchasing a raffle ticket in common shall be the sole responsibility of the person named as the holder of record of that raffle ticket, should that raffle ticket be selected as a winner.

Winners will be notified according to the contact information provided to KCMV at the time of ticket purchase. If the Grand Prize Winner cannot be located by 5:00 p.m. PST on July 10, 2023, after KCMV has attempted to contact them through the information provided at the time of purchasing the ticket, the winner will be deemed to have forfeited the prize. Another winner will not be selected for such prize.

In order to collect his or her prize, a winner from any drawing may be required to sign and deliver to KCMV: (a) a sworn affidavit of eligibility in accordance with these Rules and applicable law, including, without limitation, that he or she is at least 18 years old; (b) such written information as is required by any applicable tax laws, including, without limitation, his or her Social Security Number; and (c) proof of identity in forms satisfactory to the KCMV showing that the person claiming the prize is the same person who is named on the winning raffle ticket.

The raffle is open to any individual who is 18 years of age or older and in the state of California at the time of ticket purchase.  All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. The raffle is void where prohibited or restricted by law. An affidavit of eligibility may be required of prize winners.  A winner may be required to submit a W-2G, Form 5754, Form W-9 or similar tax form for tax reporting and/or withholding purposes. If tax forms are required for a prize win, the completed forms must be received by KCMV no later than July 28, 2023 to claim the prize, otherwise the prize will be considered forfeited. 

Vehicle value is based on a professional appraisal by Auto Appraisal Network (hard copy of appraisal included with vehicle).  Winner assumes all fees, local, state and federal taxes (including, but not limited to, income taxes and sales taxes based on the value of the car), winners’ respective financing costs, if applicable, and license fees. Likewise, there are federal taxes and may be state and/or local tax consequences if a winner selects the alternate cash prize. KCMV takes no responsibility for prize winners’ tax liabilities.
