Gulf Coast STARS has had significant medical expenses recently and is raising money to replenish our funds.

Lulu - Lulu spent over a year in our program, surrounded by love and care after being cruelly abandoned. Recently, she faced unexpected blindness and was evaluated by an ophthalmologist, but new symptoms soon emerged. Despite our vet team's tireless efforts—including researching fungal infections, scheduling a CT scan, and consulting specialists—her condition worsened. The CT scan revealed an inoperable brain tumor pressing into her nasal cavity, causing severe pain, swelling, and congestion. With heavy hearts, we made the compassionate decision to let her go and end her suffering. Her vet costs are over $3,000.

Poppy - Poppy is a young and spunky dog full of life and energy, but she’s been held back by seizures. She has started treatment for the symptoms, but we need to take the next step and get an MRI to find the source of her seizures. The MRI, scheduled for May 12, will help us rule out any serious conditions so we can help her live her best life and eventually find her forever home. Her vet costs will also total over $3000.

The Prize

• Capt. Mark's Crawfish Boil for 20!

  Just in time for Mother's or Father's Day get-togethers or graduation celebrations! Capt. Mark's Seafood Market in Freeport, Texas, is known for their tasty crawfish, and they have donated a crawfish boil for 20 people! This is about 60 pounds of cooked or uncooked crawfish with corn and potatoes -- an instant party!
  
  Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25. Tickets must be purchased by 10:00 PM on Saturday, 5/3. Drawing to be held Sunday, 5/4.
  
  The certificate is good until June 30, 2026. Cooking days at Capt. Mark's are Friday and Saturday, so the winner (hopefully, YOU) will make arrangements with Capt. Mark's, and all you have to do is bring ice chests to pick them up!

  IMPORTANT:

  1. Raffle tickets must be purchased through the raffle website. Raffle tickets cannot be purchased by emailing or commenting on Facebook or Instagram.
  2. Raffle tickets must be purchased by 10:00 PM CENTRAL, SATURDAY, 5/3/2025. The raffle closes at 11:00 PM Eastern time, which is 10:00 PM Central. 
  3. The drawing will be held Sunday, 5/4/2025, and the winner will be contacted and posted on the Gulf Coast STARS Facebook page.
  4. The winner must be able to pick the crawfish up in Freeport. Crawfish cannot be delivered or shipped. 
  5. The fair market value of the prize is $500. The prize can only be redeemed at Capt. Mark's Seafood Market and cannot be redeemed for cash.
