This is max’s story. Max went missing memorial week and was missing for 4 days without a sight. We live out in the country so we thought maybe he went for a stroll and would be back in a 1 day but then it became 2 then 3, then 4; we didn’t want to assume that one of our neighbors who has past history, hurting other dogs in the area did something to Max.  Max isn’t just any dog max is a bottle baby. We raised him since he was a week old since, his mother couldn’t. Spending days and nights countless hours with no sleep to raise him and his other siblings. So he means the world to our family. Then we finally got the call of maxs location from our neighbors wife, who saw me out looking for him and yelling his name. Yet she knew where he was. Just 3 houses down from us. Wet and covered in mud, paralyzed from the waist down but alive. Max was out in the mud, rain, and sun for 4 days trying to drag himself home with what strength he had. We took him home washed him to find a bullet entry next to his lower back. We didn’t have to guess who it was, it was without a doubt our neighbor. Max was taken to the vet the next day ; had some x-rays done to find out a bullet was lodged into his lower spine, making him paralyzed and unable to walk anymore. But I wasn’t going to give up if he was out trying for 4 days then I was going to try my best for him. Defying odds max endured the pain and antibiotics to help him heal sitting up on his own to finally being able to wag his tail again. We were donated a wheelchair for him but sadly he is to big and wheelchair that was donated to us was too small for him so me and my family decided to get him a new one. We did pick out the best one that would suit him. The only problem now is the cost of the wheelchair, so we decided on holding this raffle for this weekend and will be raffled off Saturday June 24,2023
