While most teenagers balk at the thought of mowing grass, 12-year-old Jayden Nelson hasn’t seen a lawn he didn’t like. Last year, the Little Rock native successfully mowed 50 lawns as part of the 50 Yard Challenge conducted by Raising Men and Women Lawn Care Services. After being awarded a free lawn mower from the organization, Jayden was hooked and saw that experience as an opportunity for a new business, one that not only provides lawn mowing services but leaf raking and snow shoveling, too.
Now on his second 50 Yard Challenge, Jayden, through The Reel Deal, is providing free lawn services to Little Rock first responders in addition to promoting his lawn care business. Any first responder (fire fighter, police officer, nurse, and doctor) who schedules a lawn care appointment with The Reel Deal will receive a free opportunity for a monthly quilt drawing. Everyone has an opportunity to enter the drawing with a donation. Your donations will assist with his business expenses as he strives to expand. A portion of the drawing funds will be donated to the Alabama non-profit Raising Men and Women Lawn Care Services.
