Ok, so here is the deal, we are a 501c3 Non-Profit, Public Charity, and a Working Poor Tax Credit in the State of Arizona. Every Sunday, since 2005, rain, shine or blizzard, never missing a Sunday, we have fed the less fortunate of Flagstaff at our outreach Berg’s Free BBQ. Well, about 4 years ago we noticed more and more veterans coming through our food lines. First a couple, then a few then 10, 20, 30 veterans and it just didn’t make sense to us. These men and women fought for our country. They allowed us to live in a free country, they wrote a blank check with their lives, and now they are having to stand in line for a meal (albeit a good meal) at our free food out-reach.

So, after getting together with a few veterans we knew, we came up with a plan. And that plan was UBSA (United Brothers and Sisters in Arms is the longer version and the name you can find us under on Facebook). So now we search the shelters, the streets and mountain campsites for homeless Veterans to help them get a hand-up, instead of a hand-out!

You see, these Veterans come to us with almost nothing...sometimes just the clothes on their backs. We provide shelter, food, clothing and access to medical help, training, support and jobs in a warm, family atmosphere. Sometimes we just provide a ticket home, or pay to cover them in our Transitional Facility in Flagstaff, Arizona. Yes, we have one of those, too!

Basically, we help them find whatever they need to once again rejoin all of us, as healthy and vibrate members of American Society. They have served us and we now need to serve them!

But to do this it costs money!

So twice a year we run a Rifle Raffle, (Yeehaw!) to help us cover the expenses to serve these forgotten heroes. And since we have no paid staff, only a volunteer work force, funds that come in can go directly to help find, feed, house and help our homeless and distressed Veterans.

So please buy a ticket or two…or more! Deep discounts when you buy on-line. And please, pass this on to your family and friends… or anyone else who can help us help them. It is really simple and it is really secure, so go for it… I promise you, you will be very glad that you did!

P.S. We are also selling tickets up close and personal at Cal Ranch Store in Flagstaff every 1st and 3rd weekend until February. We will also be there Black Friday in November. We have sold tickets at the Pro Rodeo, Muddin’ in the Pines, the Coconino County Fair, the Gun Show and many other venues in Arizona that support our Veterans. This year, this raffle drawing will be held on Valentines's Day!
