Hosted by JC Outfitters of Ohio, the Comanche Outdoors’ Sgt Nate Rock Memorial Hunt will take place from January 3 to January 8, 2025. This annual event honors the courage and sacrifice of Sgt Nathaniel S. Rock, who was killed in action on August 1, 2005, while serving with the Sniper Platoon, 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines near Haditha, Iraq. Sgt Rock's memory lives on through the gathering of former USMC Snipers, all Purple Heart recipients, who come together not only to share in the hunt but also to visit and reconnect with Sgt Rock’s friends and family.

This year, Comanche Outdoors is holding a raffle for a Marlin 1895 SBL .45-70 to support this meaningful tribute. Proceeds will be donated to a cause chosen by the Rock family. The raffle closes on December 19, and the drawing will take place on December 20. Each ticket purchased not only fuels this gathering but also honors Sgt Rock’s legacy by providing veterans with an opportunity to connect and remember their fallen brother.

The Prize

  • Marlin Model 1895 SBL .45-70

    This American-made lever-action rifle was manufactured with great pride and attention to detail. You can expect the same time-honored design as the traditional 1895, combined with Ruger's trusted reputation for producing high-quality, reliable firearms.

    • - Receiver, lever and trigger guard plate are CNC machined from 416 stainless steel forgings.
    • - Barrel is made of 410 stainless steel and is cold hammer-forged which results in ultra-precise rifling that provides exceptional accuracy and longevity.
    • - Threaded barrel, with factory-installed thread protector, has a 11/16"-24 pattern to accommodate a muzzle brake or other barrel accessories.

    • - Durable, laminate buttstock and forend remain dimensionally stable in varying weather conditions.
