This is Target the Future’s first raffle, which was inspired by its founding director and first president, Mr. Sherman L. Mays. The exquisite specialty shotgun that is the prize of this raffle took years to design and otherwise create with the collaboration of many individuals devoted to supporting the scholastic and competitive development of young Clay Target shooters, which are the primary missions of Target the Future.
The shotgun is comprised of amazingly beautiful wood, perfectly-executed checkering, and elaborate engraving with accompanying gold inlays and a Target the Future (TTF) engraved grip cap. The checkering and stock work of the gun was done by Mr. Sherman L. Mays, and this was his final piece of work prior to his passing in February 2022. Sherman (shown in one of the pictures below) designed the gun exclusively for raising funds for his beloved Target the Future.
Sherman was an influential and monumental figure in the craft of checkering and stock work, having authored two published books on the subject; namely, "A Book of Checkering for the Beginner" that covers the tips and methods of the craft, and "Stock Work for the Beginner". The shotgun is a remarkable legacy to this great man, and the winner of this raffle will most certainly feel the pride in owning this stunning gun.
Below are the rules of the raffle. We thank you for your generous support of Target the Future and Sherman's dream!

In other words, only one name, one method of payment, and one e-mail address are permitted per Entry. If the name of more than one person is submitted with an Entry, and that ticket is selected as a winning ticket, then the person named first will be deemed the holder of record of that ticket. Division of any Prize by a group purchasing a ticket in common shall be the sole responsibility of the person named as or deemed the holder of record of that ticket, should that ticket be selected as a winner. Tickets may not be resold. No refunds, replacements, discounts or complimentary tickets will be issued.
TTF is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate capture of Entry information, technical malfunctions, lost or delayed data, any interrupted or unavailable network server or other connections or communications, any failed computer transmissions, software or hardware malfunctions, interruptions, defects, or failures, or any errors, omissions, interruptions or deletions of any kind due to electronic, human, mechanical, printing, production or technical errors or other causes, or for any damage to a person's computer. Any late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, or illegible entries will be disqualified.
The Internal Revenue Service (the "IRS") has taken the position that amounts paid for chances in raffles, lotteries or similar drawings for valuable prizes are not gifts, and consequently, do not qualify as deductible charitable contributions. The IRS has ruled that a payment for a raffle ticket is a tax-deductible charitable contribution only to the extent the amount of the payment exceeds the price of the ticket.
RANDOM DRAWING: The winning ticket for the Prize will be randomly selected from Eligible Entries in an electronic drawing conducted by TTF at 11:00 a.m., Central Time, on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Templar Shooting Sports located at 1101 South Jackson Street, Tullahoma, Tennessee 37388 (the "Drawing"). If the person with the winning ticket cannot be contacted within five (5) business days following the Drawing or is otherwise ineligible to win the Prize, TTF will randomly select another ticket in an electronic drawing, which drawing will be done by no later than thirty calendar days after the expiration of the five-business day period or of the date on which TTF received notice of the ineligible winner, whichever is applicable. One or more TTF directors and officers will be present to observe the drawing. Ticket purchasers are encouraged to attend. However, purchasers need not be present to win.
WINNER: The Winner must be legally able to possess the Prize in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws. Further, the Winner must pass the relevant state or federal background check. If the Winner is not legally able to possess the Prize or fails to pass the background check, the Winner will not be entitled to a refund, or to a substitute or alternative prize.
NOTIFICATION: Within five (5) business days following the Drawing, TTF will attempt to contact the Winner selected in the Drawing by phone or email using the contact information listed in such Winner’s entry (the "Notification"). Within seven (7) business days of the Notification, the Winner will be required to provide TTF with each of the following (collectively the "Paperwork"):

- Additional payment information may be required for shipping and other additional costs involved with the transfer
The Winner is responsible for all fees associated with the background check and any associated state sales tax.
TRANSFER: If the Winner fails to complete the Federal Firearms License (FFL) transfer within sixty (60) calendar days of the Notification, the Winner will forfeit the Prize and TTF will randomly select another ticket in an electronic drawing, which drawing will be done by no later than thirty (30) calendar days thereafter. The transfer will be done through an FFL dealer, and all applicable federal and state laws will apply, including the state law for the legal residence of the Winner. The transfer will be done by an FFL dealer employed by Templar Shooting Sports, which is located at 1101 South Jackson Street, Tullahoma, Tennessee. TTF solely reserves the right to change the location and/or dealer for the transfer. The Winner must make the transfer through the TTF selected dealer, and in accordance with all applicable laws. An out of area Winner has the option of having the Prize transferred to his or her local FFL dealer for delivery. In such event, shipping and any other additional costs involved with the transfer will be the responsibility of the Winner, and arrangements must be made directly with Templar Shooting Sports or other TTF selected FFL dealer. The Winner may be required to verify that ownership of the Prize is legal in his/her state, city or town, prior to taking possession of the Prize.
