Dear Family, Friends & Community

As some of you may know, the co-founder and fishing director of the Xflats, Chad Sperry’s two-year-old nephew William “Billy” has been diagnosed with hepatoblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer. Between May and November of 2023, Billy underwent surgery to remove the grapefruit-sized tumor on his liver, as well as 12 rounds of chemotherapy. It appeared Billy had won his battle. Unfortunately, the most recent scans after Christmas showed that the tumor had not only returned but regrown to its original size, along with additional nodules. This fight continues to be tough, but Billy remains a strong, happy, silly two-year-old. Thank you so much to everyone for supporting Billy and our family. Join Billy’s Corner and help out for a good cause and the chance to join us at the Xflats.

The Prizes

  • Trip for two to the Xflats

    This prize is for a 6 day 7 night fly fishing trip for two to the Xflats Lodge in Xcalak, Mexico. The all-inclusive package includes transportation to and from the airport, accommodations, all-guided fishing, food and open bar. This experience is valued at over $10,000. The $100 raffle ticket price will serve as Lodge credit, with no expiration, for those who don’t win the grand prize. Trip can be gifted if you’re not a fly fisherman.

  • Original Patrick Duke Painting

    This prize is an original gouache painting from XFlats fishing director, fly fishing guide and professional landscape painter, Patrick Duke. 
    Duke is a long time fly fishing guide and artist in Crested Butte, Colorado. If he’s not on the river you will find him behind the easel at his studio on Main St., Studio One Eleven. Patrick has been part of the family since day one and we are so thankful for his generosity and support
