Veterinary Care: Must have a veterinarian in mind or be willing to find one, and be prepared for vaccinations, and routine check-ups. Lifestyle Compatibility: Must be committed to providing enough time for daily exercise and companionship for the dog throughout its life.
Living Situation: Must have permission to keep a dog in the home and be aware of any breed restrictions ( if renting )
Training and Socialization: Must be willing to invest time in training and socializing.
Time Commitment: Must be prepared for the time needed for walks, playtime, and companionship, and regular training sessions.
Family Dynamics: must consider how the dog will fit into the family structure, including interactions with children and other pets.
Criminal History: Must disclose any relevant criminal history that could affect the ability to care for or provide a safe environment for the dog.
