On July 6, 2024, our parents, Mike and Jody, were given the life-altering news that our dad had a complete spinal cord injury that left him permanently paralyzed at the T3/T4. His spinal cord injury was caused by a mass wrapped around his spinal cord at his T3/T4 vertebrae. This was very unexpected and happened without any warning signs. Mercifully, the mass was non-cancerous and the surgeon who operated on our dad is confident he removed the entire mass. Our dad is currently recovering from surgery while completing in-patient rehab to learn the skills he will need to live independently with paraplegia. 
One of the major challenges our parents are facing is making their home wheelchair-accessible before our dad completes rehab. The immediate needs are making the exterior doors accessible, modifying their bathroom, and replacing carpet in several rooms. We organized this raffle to raise funds to help our parents cover the costs of these changes. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $50 each. The maximum number of raffle tickets available is 300 making the odds 1:300 per raffle ticket. All proceeds from this raffle will go directly to our parents for this purpose.
