Dana was first diagnosed with Leukemia in May of 2017 and treated successfully at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. After being in remission for 5 years, her first relapse occurred in May 2022. Thankfully, she matched with a clinical trial at MD Anderson and STEM cell donor that she responded extremely well to and was able to go back to her everyday life. A few months ago, in September 2024, Dana and her family discovered that she fell out of remission once again and the Leukemia was back. She is currently getting treatment coordinated at MD Anderson in Houston alongside her team of oncologists both in Houston and Baton Rouge.
Thanks to the outpouring of local and community support, the Jarreau and LeBlanc families are putting together another benefit for Dana. All proceeds from this benefit fundraiser will assist in covering the costs of her medical expenses, travel & hotel expenses that come along with trips back and forth to Houston as Dana continues on this third and, hopefully, final winning battle with Leukemia.
