Our Lady Star of the Sea (OLSS) Catholic Church in Solomons, MD is holding its 2025 Gala with a Roaring 20s theme on 2/22/2025 at the Hollywood Fire Dept Banquet Hall. Part of the night's activities include awarding the Father Alexander Award to 3 members of the local community who sacrifice their time and effort to minister to others or provide services to improve the lives or homes of those needing assistance in southern Maryland. The winners of 10 items being raffled will also be selected at the Gala on 2/22/2025.  Proceeds from the sale of Gala tickets, the Raffle and sponsorships from individuals, organizations and businesses will be used to renovate a pre-k school building. 

The sale of Raffle tickets will start on-line and carry over to the night of the gala. The online purchase of tickets will end at 11 pm on 2/20/2025.  Entrants of the on-line raffle will buy tickets for the item(s) they want to win. Each ticket purchased will reserve a serialized ticket no. assigned only to them which will be physically torn off the roll and put aside for placement in the ticket boxes that will be drawn from the night of the Gala. Ticket nos. will be made available to the on-line purchasers in advance of the raffle drawing and they or a representative can witness their tickets being placed in the boxes on the night of the Gala if they are in attendance. Raffle ticket prices are $10. for 1 but if bought in a package the cost per ticket decreases as follows: $20. for 3 tickets, $30. for 5 tickets, $40. for 10 tickets. Some of the raffle items have to be delivered to the winners at a later date, thus addresses will be requested from entrants along with their phone nos.

  • 3-hour boat tour of local waters for 4 people

    Join your hosts Ginger, Bruce and the OLSS Pastor for a fun filled afternoon cruising the Chesapeake Bay or Patuxent river with a stop at a local waterfront restaurant for lunch. Date and time to be determined by you and your hosts.

  • A Bushel of Chuck Big-Os Oysters

    Winner of this item will be provided the oyster farmer's contact information for coordinating pick-up of the oysters. They will also deliver them as long as it is with-in 25 miles. Oysters will be available at the start of March 2025.

  • 16 ft Hobie Catamaran Sailboat

    Yellow 1980s era Hobie 16. It includes trailer(non-transferable title), trapeze for adventurous souls, all rigging and sails (recently refurbished) and beach wheels for launching into the surf. Don't miss this chance to own this classic sailboat !

    on-line owner sale Apps. Has some minor scratches/scrapes on bottom but is otherwise in good shape. Photos from Oct 2024. Comes with-2 clip on adjustable seat backs, a middle removeable seat made to fit hull, 2 paddles and shipping blocks to aid in mounting canoe to roof of a vehicle. Will be delivered to winner's address if it is from Calvert, St Mary's or Charles County, MD. Otherwise winner can pick up from address to be provided.

Offer covers only the room cost, however the 2 NIGHT/3 DAY stay can be extended if the winner is willing to pick up the extra cost.
