    Hodge Defense Systems MOD-1 Technical Specifications

    ​Receiver Set (Upper & Lower)

    • ​Material: Forged 7075-T6 Aluminum.
    • ​Finish: Anodized per Mil-A-8625, Type III Hard Coat.
    • ​Fitment (Proprietary): Features slightly oversized Takedown and Pivot Lugs to ensure a tight, minimal-play upper-to-lower fit.
    • ​Barrel Interface (Proprietary): Requires Thermal Fitting of the barrel extension to the upper receiver to achieve a maximized, rigid mechanical lock-up for enhanced accuracy.

    ​Barrel Assembly (The "Special Barrel")

    • ​Construction: Cold Hammer Forged (CHF) process for superior durability and lifespan.
    • ​Material: Utilizes a Proprietary Steel Alloy (historical and current specifications vary, often referenced as a high-end modified steel).
    • ​Bore Feature (Proprietary): Features a Tapered Bore and optimized rifling.
      • ​Technical Benefit: This design enhances projectile velocity and contributes to a softer, smoother recoil impulse, particularly when suppressed.
    • ​Chamber/Caliber: 5.56 {NATO} / accepts both 5.56 {NATO} and 0.223 {Rem}
    • ​Gas System: Mid-length Gas System (for 14.5" and 16" models) with an Optimized Gas Port Size.
