Why We’re Doing This

Every year, thousands of young adults age out of the foster care system and head to college without the support system most students rely on. While many freshmen arrive on campus with parents helping them move in, organize their dorm rooms, and settle into this new chapter of life, students who have aged out of foster care often arrive alone.

Nationally, more than 20,000 young people age out of foster care each year, and only a small percentage go on to earn a college degree. The transition to adulthood can be especially challenging without family support, mentorship, or the small comforts that help students stay focused and confident.

That’s where Move-In Day Mafia comes in.

This incredible organization shows up for foster youth entering college by doing the things many of us take for granted. Volunteers create dorm room makeovers, deliver monthly care packages, and provide encouragement, mentorship, and community so students don’t feel like they’re navigating college alone.

Their goal is simple but powerful:
to give these students the support, stability, and encouragement they need to focus on excelling in school and building their future.

Through this raffle, we’re raising funds to help support the work of Move-In Day Mafia and the students they serve.

Because every student deserves someone cheering them on.
