On the morning of Monday, January 19 2026, our lives changed forever. John woke up, fell to the floor, and could not get back up. He was rushed by ambulance to Cape Coral Hospital and later transferred to Gulf Coast Hospital after doctors confirmed he had suffered a stroke.

At first, John was lucid and able to talk. Doctors determined a stent was needed in his carotid artery, but tragically, the procedure resulted in a brain bleed. When John came out of surgery, he was no longer the same. He was left completely incapacitated. To make matters even more critical, John then had to undergo an emergency craniotomy to relieve severe swelling in his brain.

Today, John cannot talk or eat. He can only make small movements with his right hand and right leg. The man who was once independent, hardworking, and full of life now faces a long and uncertain road to recovery.

John is someone who truly lived life to the fullest. He loved riding dirt bikes, being out on the water boating, and lobstering in the Keys — passions that brought him joy, freedom, and peace. To see someone who thrived on movement, adventure, and the outdoors now fighting just to regain basic abilities is heartbreaking beyond words.

As we focus entirely on John’s healing and rehabilitation, the medical bills are starting to come in, and the loss of income from his inability to work is creating an overwhelming financial burden. This fundraiser will help cover medical expenses, daily living bills, and any unforeseen costs related to John’s recovery and loss of work.

John has now made it through rehab and is back home learning how to live and move again but there is still a long road ahead.
